Socio-webspace

This site is aimed at improving and renewing the temperance and virtue of all types of people throughout the nations in order to encourage social inclusion. We all need to participate in the campaign against men, women and children abuse and violence. We also need to relinquish the wrong perception that men are the only violent human beings. Violent and abusive women who also kill and the disrespective, abusive youth of today, bears testimony to my allegations i.e. the rate of abandoned newly born babies is increasing yearly in our country.Reality documented series on e.tv like Cheaters and Forgive and Forget, Khumbulekhaya (SABC 1), Women Who Kill (DSTV) are also corroborative evidence of my opinion. As far as I know, pardon me if I am mistaken, South Africa is the only country with a minister of women and children only (Lulu Xingwana), why not a minister for men, women and children.  The campaigns against men violence only that are conducted yearly in South Africa are not only biased and unfair against men but are also acts of social exclusion, in a nut shell “Some people are getting away with murder”. Therefore, we need to adopt a holistic approach when dealing with issues of social nature because all living creatures are subject to mistakes i.e. leave no stone unturned. Don’t believe me? Please go to your local jails to check if only men are languishing there. Yes, in terms of the statistics, men are doing more harm but please bear in mind that most cases are not reported by men.The following weekly updated newspaper articles outlines some of the main problems we are encountering in our daily lives and our government campaign should be integrated in this fashion. Some of these articles (Fun-Zone) may be regarded as crime-promoting by some people, although they are just icing on the cake, infact they are meant to warn the crime perpetrators of the risks they are taking with their lives :

Mum’s Poison Plan Flops!

The mum reportedly had a terrible argument with her husband.

And when he left the yard, the mother allegedly poisoned her four children and took the poison herself.

It is believed that the 30-year-old mother from Meqheleng, Ficksburg, prepared pap mixed with poison.

She then woke the children up, and fed them the poisoned food!

The children are aged three, five, six and nine.

She also ate the food but they all became so sick that neighbours called for an ambulance and they were rushed to Dihlabeng Hospital in Bethlehem.

Three days later, when the children had recovered, they reported to a social worker that their mother told them that she wanted to kill them by feeding them poisoned food.

The mother was arrested and appeared in the Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of attempted murder.

Captain Phumelelo Dhlamini said the poisoned food was confiscated by the police. It will now be sent for forensic tests.

Three other mothers are in different prisons for killing their children:

* Mapaseka Seoka, 28, is serving 12 years for killing her two daughters in Augaust 2008 in an open veld in Newclare, Johannesburg. She was sentenced in April this year by the Vereeniging Circuit Court.

* Shirley Obose, of Jabulani in Soweto, is serving 30 years with 15 of them suspended for killing her two children with rat poison in January 2001. She had pleaded guilty in Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.

* Batseba Lekgeu, 27, was jailed for 18 years by the Pretoria High Court for mudering her five-year-old son in May 2011. Lekgeu admitted to wrapping her son in a blanket and stabbing him to death.

A wicked father has been jailed for life for raping his young daughter for years.

He used to wait until his wife went out and then take his child to the goat kraal and rape her. It happened in KZN.

But the brave schoolgirl (14) rebelled. She pushed him aside and ran to neighbours for help. The bad dad fled when the cops were called.

Last week, a Nongoma regional magistrate found the man (40) guilty and sentenced him to life in jail.

Only You Decide If You Control Your Life Or Not – (Quote Of The Day)

Are you the victim or the victor in your life?

Life is not fair. At some point in our lives each of us will have to face troubles whether they are health, emotional, traumatic or physical. In order to deal with these troubles it is important to understand your role in your own troubles.

Many people play the victim role. When a bad thing happens, they feel defeated and almost believe they deserved it. This creates a horrible cycle of negativity. These unhealthy beliefs and attitudes cause people to fall into the trap of feeling that what happens in their lives control who they are and how they will succeed.

And once you feel this way, it becomes easier and easier to believe life is hopeless and dangerous, and that you don’t control anything. But, the truth is, while bad things happen, they are not your fault. You are not being punished. This is just random chaos that happened to you.

Yes, we are all hit by challenges, but it is not the challenges that are the problem – sure, they can hurt, cause troubles and can be heartbraking – but, if you refuse to be beaten by these events you actually learn that you can take your power back. You can take control of your life. And when you start doing this, you become the victor.

Taking full responsibility for your own thoughts and actions offers you the ability to deal with problems instead of surrendering them. It may seem difficult at first because you have taught yourself that it’s easier to live this way than fight something you cannot control. But this is just an illusion – it is not actually real.

Other people may tell you that challenges are opportunities or that you must think positive thoughts in order to succeed. Do not listen to those people. They are trying to do good but it will not help you.

What will help you is patience and dedication. You must go against what your own mind is telling you you are doomed for failure. It is this inner critic that you must ignore and fight against.

It will not be easy – because changing your mind means you must make your mind undo and re-learn all those years you spent teaching your mind to undermine your own abilities.

“You can do it but only if you do not stop letting yourself defeat yourself.”

I Want My Brutal Lover Back!

Her lover allegedly punched and kicked her until she fainted.

He threw her like a sack of potatoes on a bakkie and drove off so fast she bounced around like a rag doll. Then she was flung out, hitting the hard tar with an agonising thud.

She suffered a broken leg, dislocated shoulder, internal injuries, a torn lower lip and a horrible headache.

But despite this horrible ordeal, Nozipho Lekhuwane (26) is begging cops to release her brutal lover. The cops refused to release him.

Lieutenant-Colonel Leonard Hlathi said: “We are considering changing the charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm to one of attempted murder.

“This woman was gruesomely abused – and on the first day of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.”

Nozipho’s nightmare began after a party on Friday night in Mhluzi, Mpumalanga. A friend arranged a lift to take her and her daughter (10) home after the party.

“Shortly  after she got into the car, her boyfriend blocked the car and demanded that she get out. He then attacked her,” said Hlathi.

Time To Watch Kids Who Are Going Astray

Community leaders have urged parents to monitor their children during the school holidays, when they are most likely to get into trouble.

With schools closing on Friday, house parties, alcohol and drug abuse, engaging in unprotected sex and getting involved in petty crime top the list of concerns.

Les Govender, of the Chatsworth Schools’ Monitoring Committee, said they had teamed up with police to conduct spot checks.

“We will be checking up on parks, game rooms and night clubs, as well as other places that children are likely to hang out, to ensure they are not engaging in drugs and alcohol. However, the one thing we cannot control are house parties. This is where we need the parents’ help,” he said.

Parents should also talk to their children about the dangers of unprotected sex, said Govender.

“The children get intoxicated and then have unprotected sex. This lead to sexually transmitted diseases even pregnancy. All these things will change their lives forever.

Linda Naidoo, director of KZN Childline, said parents had to keep an eye on their children. Being left at home alone while parents were at work could lead to youngsters misbehaving.

“Teenagers may be exposed to peoplewho can make all kinds of tempting offers such as holiday jobs, or visiting new and different places – this is unsafe and these people are not to be trusted.

“Most often it’s the people closest to you that cannot be trusted. From our experience we know that children visit taxi depots and go on joyrides; are tempted to visit shebeens to play games; and are tempted to consume alcohol or other substances,” she said.

“No,” the man replies. “He said we must carry our burdens and sorrows around with a smile!”

Have A Thankful Heart And Receive – (Advice Of The Day)

Gratitude is the best way to attract fortune.

It is important to show gratitude to the people who make us happy, people who make a difference in our lives. One has to be thankful for what one has, rather than bemoan what one doesn’t have.

Being grateful should be part of our lives. Be grateful that despite the poverty and hunger, God has given you good health. Every time you eat your favourite fruit remember who planted it.

When you buy your favourite meal at the local restaurant, remember to say thank you to the one serving you.

No matter how small it may be, say thank you and you’ll see more. Say thank you to that taxi driver who takes you from point A to point B. Say thank you to your parents for the love and care they are giving you.

Remember, gratitude is the memory of the heart. Say it again. Say it now: “Thank you!”

“Say thank you and open up a whole new world filled with endless opportunities.”

DNA Evidence Frees Husband After 25 Years In Jail

Austin: A Texas appeal court formally exonerated a man who spent nearly 25 years in jail for his wife’s 1986 fatal beating, reaffirming a judge’s decision to set him free in October after DNA tests linked the killing to another man.

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals declared Michael Morton innocent of killing his wife Christine and made him eligible to receive 80 000 dollars (R640 000) from the state for each year of confinement, or about 2 million dollars in total.

Morton (57), was convicted on the basis of cicumstantial evidence and sentenced to life in prison. He maintained over the years that his wife and their three-year-old son were fine when he left for workat an Austin grocery store on the day she was killed, and that an intruder must have attacked her.

DNA found during testing on a bloody bandana recovered near the crime scene matched that of a man who authorities say has a criminal record in several states. When it was also matched to DNA recovered from the scene of a north Austin woman’s 1988 unsolved beating death, prosecutors recommended that Morton be freed immediately.

Authorities have not publicly identified the suspect linked to the two killings because they say they are trying to locate and arrest him.

Morton was released on October 4, but not formally cleared of all charges until October 12′s ruling.

Nina Morrison, an attorney for the Innocence Project, which spent years fighting for the genetic testing of the evidence that wasn’t possible during Morton’s original trial, said she called Morton to tell him about the ruling.

“It’s been an incredible week for him. Something he only dreamed about all those years in prison.,” she said. “He is so thrilled that the truth has finally come out. He is anxious to get on with his life.”

Morton technically remained on parole until the appeals court ruling took effect in 30 days. “But obviously, he knows now the courts have spoken,” Morrison said. “The prosecutor in Williamson County has finally said he is innocent.”

The Innocence Project accused the prosecutor who originally handled the case of deliberately concealing non-DNA evidence that would probably would have helped Morton avoid being convicted.
